This charming bottle sweater is a quick and enjoyable knit, worked seamlessly to create a snug and stylish cover for your favorite bottles. The pattern features a classic fair isle design that adds both warmth and a touch of handmade flair to your beverage containers. The bottle sweater is worked in the round with a circular needle, bottom-up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary. Fits most standard-sized bottles.

SIZE

One size fir most standard-sized bottles.

MATERIALS:

US 1,5 (2.5mm) circular needles for magic loop or US 1,5 (2.5mm) double pointed needles.
Any DK weight yarn.

Silver yarn – 1 skein
Blue yarn – 1 skein

GAUGE:

10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inch = 24 stitches in width and 32 rows/rounds in height with stockinette stitch, after blocking.

STICH GLOSSARY

P2tog = Purl next 2 stitches together
P = Purl
K = Knit
st(s) = Stitch(es)

Cast on 60 stitches. Join in the round, making sure not to twist stitches, place marker to indicate beginning of the round.

ROW 1: K60
ROWS 2-4: K1, P1 repeat to end of the row
Then start to knit in stockinette stitch. Knit rnds 1-28 of Chart A, noting 20-st rep will be worked 3 times.


Repeat rows 25-28 until piece measures 8,5 inches (22cm).

Then begin ribbing:
ROWS 1-3: K1, P3, repeat to end of the row. (60 sts)
ROW 4: K1, P2tog, P1, repeat to end of the row (45 sts)
ROWS 5-6: K1, P2, repeat to end of the row (45 sts)
ROW 7: K1, P2tog, repeat to end of the row (30 sts)
ROW 8: K1, P1, repeat to end of the row (30 sts)
Continue Row 8 until full piece measures 12 inches (30cm)
Bind off
